Hello and Welcome to the Yellow Snail!

The Yellow snail started as a joke. We received the Snail as a white elephant gift at a Christmas party. After bringing it to two subsequent white elephant exchanges over two years, and still somehow retaining ownership, we knew it was fate. 

We were stuck with the f*ing thing. 

Fast forward to our new home in McKinney Texas which we purchased in spring of 2018. Just off our entryway there is a formal dining room. Being the Millennials that we are, we looked at it and immediately wondered “What are we going to do with this? Clearly not use it as a dining room. We’re not Boomers.” 

Again, being good Millennials – we had been a fan of craft cocktails, beer, and wine for a long time. Wandering areas looking for the coolest and most unique drinks was a central feature of our courtship and time together. But, being parents of small kids, our little ‘bundles of joy’ were starting to put a big damper on our “wander around bars” hobby. 

It was around this time we wandered through a furniture store and realized “Holy shit! We could have a bar IN OUR HOUSE!” and the Yellow Snail was born. Once we had the idea it began to grow. And as it grew, we got more serious – a sort of heavenly, booze-soaked, feedback loop was created: 

We started collecting liquor, books, and syrups because we have a bar. 

We have a bar because we have a collection of liquor, books, and syrups.

You might ask which came first, the chicken or the egg. To which Andrew would respond “yes” and tell you to have another drink. 

What should you expect at the Yellow Snail? To have fun! We’re not here to tell you what you should like or what you should drink. We have lots of suggestions if you want – and we might try to get you to try a drink with a spirit you don’t usually like. We pride ourselves on experimenting and introducing people to new and interesting drinks. Want to explore or try something different off our menu? Great! Want to have a Tito & Soda? Great! Want a mocktail? Great! Want something else to drink? Awesome!
